Festivals

Sankranti

We celebrate Sankranti festival in the colony with Bhogi Mantalu and Bhogi Pallu. Bhogi Manta is usually kept across from Silpa Stadium in the open area. A day prior to the event, dry wooden sticks are accumulated near that area. Kerosene and Camphor is kept handy on the day of the event. Bhogi Pallu is celebrated in the clubhouse. Younger kids are invited in the evening and the function is conducted by elders. On a suitable weekend that works for ladies in the colony, Rangoli is drawn in front of the houses and the pictures published. The kids also take part in Kite flying.
